# AhaSlides vs Wooclap

> Compare AhaSlides and Wooclap on activity types, quizzes, PowerPoint import, surveys, LMS integrations, reports and AI to pick the right tool.

AhaSlides is an all-in-one interactive presentation platform with a wide range of activity types, ranging from quizzes, games and polls to a [Spinner Wheel](/using-slide-types/using-the-spinner-wheel) random picker and presentation slides. Wooclap suits teaching and training sessions built around graded questions and learning management system (LMS) grade sync; AhaSlides adds drawing activities, a Duck Race game, a Diagram slide and editable PowerPoint imports.

Competitor details were checked against Wooclap's own help centre in October 2026.

## AhaSlides vs Wooclap at a glance

AhaSlides and Wooclap both run live quizzes, polls and word clouds from your audience's phones; the differences are in activity types, imports and LMS integrations.

| | AhaSlides | Wooclap |
| - | - | - |
| Activity types | Quizzes, polls, word clouds, open-ended, image activities, Q\&A, surveys, games and diagrams | More than 20 question types, including graded questions, polls, brainstorming and a Spin the wheel ([Wooclap question types](https://docs.wooclap.com/en/collections/2357551-question-types)) |
| Quizzes | Seven quiz types, live or [self-paced](/presenting/setting-up-a-self-paced-presentation-on-ahaslides) | Graded question types in live sessions, plus self-paced questionnaires, shared with certain plans ([Wooclap self-paced session guide](https://docs.wooclap.com/en/articles/674825-self-paced-session)) |
| Imported PowerPoint | [Import as editable slides](/features-and-functions/importing-a-powerpoint-presentation-or-pdf-file) keeps text and shapes editable | Uploaded slides are converted into images ([Wooclap presentation upload guide](https://docs.wooclap.com/en/articles/674969-how-to-insert-wooclap-questions-in-your-presentation)) |
| Surveys | [AhaSlides Surveys](/using-slide-types/using-the-surveys-tool), a standalone tool | Self-paced questionnaires inside an event, shared by link ([Wooclap self-paced session guide](https://docs.wooclap.com/en/articles/674825-self-paced-session)) |
| Courses | [Courses](/features-and-functions/create-and-publish-a-course) | No course builder; its closest is a self-paced session with questionnaires, slides and shared files ([Wooclap self-paced session guide](https://docs.wooclap.com/en/articles/674825-self-paced-session)) |
| Integrations | PowerPoint, Google Slides, Zoom, Teams, Blackboard | PowerPoint, Google Slides, Zoom, Teams, and learning management systems through LTI 1.3, such as Moodle, Canvas, Blackboard and Brightspace ([Wooclap LTI 1.3 guide](https://docs.wooclap.com/en/articles/13285037-how-to-integrate-and-use-wooclap-with-a-learning-management-system-lms)) |

## What AhaSlides has that Wooclap doesn't

AhaSlides has drawing, diagram and duck race slides that Wooclap's [question types](https://docs.wooclap.com/en/collections/2357551-question-types) don't include, plus editable PowerPoint imports, so these are the clearest differences.

| | AhaSlides | Wooclap |
| - | - | - |
| Drawing activities | [Draw Answer](/using-slide-types/using-the-draw-answer-slide) | Not in its question types |
| Diagram slides | [Diagram](/using-slide-types/using-the-diagram-slide) | Not in its question types |
| Racing games | [Duck Race](/using-slide-types/using-the-duck-race-slide) | Not in its question types; it has a [Spin the wheel](https://docs.wooclap.com/en/articles/8243583-spin-the-wheel) |
| Edit an imported PowerPoint inside the editor | [Import as editable slides](/features-and-functions/importing-a-powerpoint-presentation-or-pdf-file) | Slides become images, so you can't edit their text in Wooclap ([Wooclap presentation upload guide](https://docs.wooclap.com/en/articles/674969-how-to-insert-wooclap-questions-in-your-presentation)); its PowerPoint add-in keeps your deck in PowerPoint instead ([Wooclap PowerPoint add-in guide](https://docs.wooclap.com/en/articles/2130961-how-to-use-wooclap-in-powerpoint)) |

## Activity types

AhaSlides offers a wide range of activity types, covering the quizzes, polls and word clouds Wooclap does and adding drawing, diagram and racing-game slides. Wooclap has a long list of its own, so the difference is less about quantity than about which activities you need.

**AhaSlides**

## Quizzes, teams and game modes

Both tools run a scored quiz with a live ranking, let people play in groups, and let participants answer in their own time.

| | AhaSlides | Wooclap |
| - | - | - |
| Points and a live [leaderboard](/features-and-functions/adding-and-deleting-a-leaderboard-on-your-quiz) | Yes | Competition mode, live sessions only, shows the top 10 ([Wooclap competition mode guide](https://docs.wooclap.com/en/articles/674966-how-to-use-the-competition-mode)) |
| [Team play](/features-and-functions/running-a-team-quiz) | Yes | Answer as a group ([Wooclap Answer as a group guide](https://docs.wooclap.com/en/articles/6592488-answer-as-a-group)) |
| [Self-paced](/presenting/setting-up-a-self-paced-presentation-on-ahaslides) play | Yes | Self-paced questionnaires; sharing them needs certain plans ([Wooclap self-paced session guide](https://docs.wooclap.com/en/articles/674825-self-paced-session)) |

| Game slides | Spinner Wheel and Duck Race | Spin the wheel ([Wooclap Spin the wheel guide](https://docs.wooclap.com/en/articles/8243583-spin-the-wheel)) |

## Importing PowerPoint and PDF files

Both tools let you bring in an existing deck, but AhaSlides can keep imported PowerPoint text and shapes editable while Wooclap converts uploaded slides into images. Wooclap accepts PowerPoint, Keynote and PDF files up to 50 MB, and you then drag questions between the slides ([Wooclap presentation upload guide](https://docs.wooclap.com/en/articles/674969-how-to-insert-wooclap-questions-in-your-presentation)). Both also have an add-in that runs inside PowerPoint itself.

| | AhaSlides | Wooclap |
| - | - | - |
| Import PowerPoint and PDF | Every plan, including the [free account](/price-plans/what-is-included-in-the-free-account) | Upload PowerPoint, Keynote or PDF; for Google Slides, a browser extension adds each question as a new slide in your deck, but a deck added by link can't have questions between its slides ([Wooclap Google Slides guide](https://docs.wooclap.com/en/articles/3471271-how-to-use-wooclap-in-google-slides)) |
| Edit imported text and shapes inside the editor | Choose **Import as editable slides** | No, slides are converted into images |
| Present from inside PowerPoint | Interactive slides embedded in your deck | Add-in on every plan that creates, edits and presents questions inside your deck ([Wooclap PowerPoint add-in guide](https://docs.wooclap.com/en/articles/2130961-how-to-use-wooclap-in-powerpoint)) |
| Add-in in PowerPoint for the web | Not available; use the PowerPoint desktop app | Yes ([Wooclap PowerPoint add-in guide](https://docs.wooclap.com/en/articles/2130961-how-to-use-wooclap-in-powerpoint)) |
| Add-in in PowerPoint on a Mac | Yes | Not guaranteed; Wooclap says it may work ([Wooclap PowerPoint add-in guide](https://docs.wooclap.com/en/articles/2130961-how-to-use-wooclap-in-powerpoint)) |

See [Importing a PowerPoint presentation or PDF file](/features-and-functions/importing-a-powerpoint-presentation-or-pdf-file) and [Using PowerPoint's AhaSlides add-in](/integrations/using-powerpoint-s-ahaslides-add-in).

## Surveys in AhaSlides and Wooclap

AhaSlides has a standalone survey tool, while Wooclap collects answers in their own time through self-paced questionnaires inside an event. [AhaSlides Surveys](/using-slide-types/using-the-surveys-tool) lets you create and share a Survey for free, and drop the same Survey live into a presentation. A few extras, such as custom themes and exporting results, aren't available on every plan.

In Wooclap, a questionnaire is built in the Self-Paced Session tab and shared with a link or the event code; sharing needs certain plans ([Wooclap self-paced session guide](https://docs.wooclap.com/en/articles/674825-self-paced-session)).

## Courses for self-paced learning

AhaSlides [Courses](/features-and-functions/create-and-publish-a-course) are made of lessons, pages and blocks such as text, video and knowledge checks, shared with your learners by one link. Wooclap's self-paced session is for questionnaires and downloadable files of any type, up to 75 MB each ([Wooclap self-paced session guide](https://docs.wooclap.com/en/articles/674825-self-paced-session)), and participants can also review your uploaded slides at their own pace ([Wooclap guide to slides on participants' devices](https://docs.wooclap.com/en/articles/2968217-how-to-display-slides-on-participants-devices)). Wooclap's maker also offers Wooflash, a separate platform for tracking learners' progress ([Wooclap distance learning guide](https://docs.wooclap.com/en/articles/3810601-how-can-you-use-wooclap-for-distance-learning)).

## Reports after the session

Both tools show results for each session and for each participant, and Wooclap can email each authenticated participant a personal report ([Wooclap personal report guide](https://docs.wooclap.com/en/articles/2157461-send-a-personalised-report-to-the-participants)). Wooclap lets every user view results, but downloading them needs certain plans ([Wooclap results and export guide](https://docs.wooclap.com/en/articles/674961-how-to-download-or-export-event-results)).

| Report | AhaSlides | Wooclap |
| - | - | - |
| Results for each session | Yes | Yes |
| Per-participant results | Yes | Participants tab; names show only if you turn on authentication or pseudonyms ([Wooclap participant identification guide](https://docs.wooclap.com/en/articles/674920-can-i-identify-the-participants)) |
| Analytics across your whole team, for admins | **Analytics**, a dashboard of how your team uses AhaSlides | Analytics tab in the admin dashboard ([Wooclap admin Analytics guide](https://docs.wooclap.com/en/articles/16412016-how-to-use-the-analytics-tab-in-your-admin-dashboard)), which comes with certain plans ([Wooclap pricing guide](https://docs.wooclap.com/en/articles/14402104-what-is-wooclap-s-pricing)) |

Wooclap also has a post-session summary, available to organisations with its AI option ([Wooclap session summary guide](https://docs.wooclap.com/en/articles/16295055-understanding-the-wooclap-post-session-summary-and-analytics)). See [Presentation and participant reports](/after-the-presentation/your-ahaslides-presentation-report).

## AI and integrations

Both platforms have AI that builds content from a prompt, and Wooclap has named AI agents, such as a Question Builder that works from a topic, document, link or audio file ([Wooclap AI agents guide](https://docs.wooclap.com/en/articles/11872838-wooclap-ai-agents)). Wooclap's AI agents are available with certain plans. The main gap is learning management systems: Wooclap connects to them through LTI 1.3, including Moodle, Canvas, Blackboard and Brightspace, with certain plans ([Wooclap LTI 1.3 guide](https://docs.wooclap.com/en/articles/13285037-how-to-integrate-and-use-wooclap-with-a-learning-management-system-lms)), while AhaSlides connects to [Blackboard](/integrations/connecting-ahaslides-to-blackboard) through LTI 1.3, which also works with other LTI 1.3 learning management systems and isn't available on every plan.

## Which is better, AhaSlides or Wooclap?

Choose Wooclap if your sessions live inside an LMS and you want results, attendance or participation synced to its gradebook ([Wooclap LTI 1.3 guide](https://docs.wooclap.com/en/articles/13285037-how-to-integrate-and-use-wooclap-with-a-learning-management-system-lms)), or you need assessment-style question types such as [Script concordance test](https://docs.wooclap.com/en/articles/2743688-script-concordance-test), Label an image and Find a number. Wooclap also takes answers by text message with certain plans ([Wooclap SMS participation guide](https://docs.wooclap.com/en/articles/674929-how-does-sms-text-message-participation-work)) and has named AI agents for question building, image labelling and answer grouping ([Wooclap AI agents guide](https://docs.wooclap.com/en/articles/11872838-wooclap-ai-agents)). Choose AhaSlides if you want drawing activities, more games, editable PowerPoint imports and self-paced courses alongside your presentations.

* Classrooms: Wooclap suits graded questions with LMS grade sync; AhaSlides adds [drawing](/using-slide-types/using-the-draw-answer-slide) and a [Duck Race](/using-slide-types/using-the-duck-race-slide) alongside its quizzes.
* Corporate training: AhaSlides [Courses](/features-and-functions/create-and-publish-a-course) and [participant reports](/after-the-presentation/reports-slides-and-participants-lists#see-every-participant-in-one-list) follow learners over time; Wooclap offers self-paced questionnaires and shared files.
* Events: both have audience questions ([Q\&A](/using-slide-types/using-qa) in AhaSlides, the [Message Wall](https://docs.wooclap.com/en/articles/1501778-message-wall) in Wooclap), word clouds and a spinning wheel; AhaSlides adds a [Duck Race](/using-slide-types/using-the-duck-race-slide) that picks a winner purely by luck.

## Frequently asked questions

### What is the difference between AhaSlides and Wooclap?

Both let an audience answer quizzes, polls and word clouds from their phones. Wooclap centres on graded teaching questions and LMS grade sync; AhaSlides adds drawing activities, more games, a Diagram slide and editable PowerPoint imports, and lets you build self-paced courses in the same account.

### Can you edit imported PowerPoint slides in Wooclap?

No. When you upload a presentation, Wooclap converts its slides into images, so you can't edit their text in Wooclap ([Wooclap presentation upload guide](https://docs.wooclap.com/en/articles/674969-how-to-insert-wooclap-questions-in-your-presentation)). Its alternative is the PowerPoint add-in, which adds questions to a deck you keep editing in PowerPoint ([Wooclap PowerPoint add-in guide](https://docs.wooclap.com/en/articles/2130961-how-to-use-wooclap-in-powerpoint)). With **Import as editable slides**, AhaSlides keeps the text and shapes editable in its own editor.

### Which learning management systems does Wooclap work with?

Its LTI 1.3 integration works with learning management systems such as Moodle, Canvas, Blackboard and Brightspace, with certain plans ([Wooclap LTI 1.3 guide](https://docs.wooclap.com/en/articles/13285037-how-to-integrate-and-use-wooclap-with-a-learning-management-system-lms)). In Moodle, for example, you sync results, attendance or participation, one at a time ([Wooclap Moodle guide](https://docs.wooclap.com/en/articles/14619595-how-to-use-wooclap-in-moodle)). AhaSlides connects to [Blackboard](/integrations/connecting-ahaslides-to-blackboard) through LTI 1.3, and the same approach works with other LTI 1.3 learning management systems; this isn't available on every plan.

### Does Wooclap have self-paced quizzes?

Yes. Self-paced questionnaires are answered on the web at the participant's own pace, but Wooclap's competition mode is for live sessions only ([Wooclap competition mode guide](https://docs.wooclap.com/en/articles/674966-how-to-use-the-competition-mode)). AhaSlides quizzes can run [self-paced](/presenting/setting-up-a-self-paced-presentation-on-ahaslides).

### Can Wooclap participants answer by text message?

Yes, with certain plans, for a set list of question types such as MCQ, Poll and Open question ([Wooclap SMS participation guide](https://docs.wooclap.com/en/articles/674929-how-does-sms-text-message-participation-work)).

### Does Wooclap have a standalone survey tool?

Wooclap's closest match is the self-paced questionnaire, which belongs to an event ([Wooclap self-paced session guide](https://docs.wooclap.com/en/articles/674825-self-paced-session)). AhaSlides has [AhaSlides Surveys](/using-slide-types/using-the-surveys-tool) as a separate tool.

### Can I use AhaSlides for free?

Yes. You can [sign up for free](https://presenter.ahaslides.com/pages/register); the [free account](/price-plans/what-is-included-in-the-free-account) has no time limit, and you can run a session with a live audience before deciding whether to upgrade. Some features aren't available on every plan; if yours doesn't include one, you'll be prompted to upgrade. See [AhaSlides pricing](https://ahaslides.com/pricing/) for current plans.

### Do participants need an app?

No. Participants join an AhaSlides presentation in their phone's browser by typing the join link or scanning a QR code, and they don't need an account. See [Invite participants to your presentation](/presenting/sharing-your-presentation-for-participants-to-join).
