# Bite-size courses for phones with Stick

> Ask your AI assistant for a short course learners swipe through on their phone in a few minutes, then preview and edit it in AhaSlides before you publish.

Stick is a course style for phones: learners swipe through short cards, one idea per card, and finish a lesson in a few minutes. Use it for refreshers, onboarding and teams who learn on the go, and build it by asking an AI assistant connected to AhaSlides.

## Stick at a glance

| | |
| - | - |
| What learners see | Short, swipeable cards with Stick's drawn character, on light, easy-to-read cards |
| What's inside | Text and images plus quick knowledge checks, flashcards, accordions and drag-and-drop matching |
| Made for | Refreshers, onboarding, frontline staff, a few minutes per lesson |
| Not made for | Long courses, exams or certification. Use a [standard course](https://docs.ahaslides.com/features-and-functions/create-and-publish-a-course.md) for those |

## Before you start

You need an AhaSlides account and an AI assistant that supports custom MCP connectors, such as Claude or ChatGPT.

A Stick course is applied through the **AhaSlides eLearning** server:

```
https://mcp.ahaslides.com/elearning/mcp
```

The main AhaSlides server (`https://mcp.ahaslides.com/mcp`) builds courses too, but it cannot give them a course style such as Stick. If you already use it, add the eLearning server as a second connector.

## Make a Stick course with AI

**1. Connect the AhaSlides eLearning server**

Follow the [Claude](https://docs.ahaslides.com/integrations/ahaslides-mcp-getting-started-guide.md#setup-adding-ahaslides-to-claude-no-code) or [ChatGPT](https://docs.ahaslides.com/integrations/ahaslides-mcp-getting-started-guide.md#setup-adding-ahaslides-to-chatgpt-no-code) setup steps, but paste `https://mcp.ahaslides.com/elearning/mcp` as the server URL. Name the connector something you'll recognise, such as **AhaSlides eLearning**, then sign in with your AhaSlides account.

**2. Ask for a short course for phones**

Name Stick directly ("Stick course plugin") or describe what you want ("bite-size mobile course", "TikTok-style course"). For example:

* *"Make a bite-size course my baristas can do on their phone: how to pull a good espresso shot, in 5 minutes."*
* *"Create a quick refresher on spotting a phishing email for our staff, with short cards and a couple of knowledge checks."*
* *"Turn these notes into a TikTok-style microlearning course for new starters: (paste your notes)"*

Your assistant may list the style as **Stick deck**. Pick it if it asks which style to use.

**3. Check the draft in AhaSlides**

Open **My files**, click **Courses** in the sidebar and open the new course. Click **Preview** in the top bar to see it the way learners will, in the Stick style.

**4. Publish and share it**

Publish the course and share its link the same way as any other course. See [Publish and share your course](https://docs.ahaslides.com/features-and-functions/create-and-publish-a-course.md#publish-and-share-your-course).

## Edit a Stick course by hand

You don't have to go back to the AI for every change. Open the course from **Courses** and edit its lessons, pages and blocks in the course editor, the same way as in a [standard course](https://docs.ahaslides.com/features-and-functions/create-and-publish-a-course.md#build-a-lesson-with-pages-and-blocks). The editor shows the standard layout while you work; click **Preview** to check how your changes look in the Stick style. Learners see your changes after you publish the course again.

## Frequently asked questions

> [accordion] Can I start a Stick course without an AI assistant?
>
> Not yet. A new course you create in AhaSlides uses the standard style, and Stick is applied by an AI assistant connected to the AhaSlides eLearning server. Once the course exists, you can edit it by hand in the course editor.

> [accordion] Can I give an existing course the Stick style?
>
> Yes. Ask your assistant on the eLearning server to switch that course to Stick, then preview it and publish it again.

> [accordion] Where do learners take a Stick course?
>
> They open your course link on `learn.ahaslides.com`. Stick is made for phones, and the course also opens on a computer. See [Take a course as a learner](https://docs.ahaslides.com/features-and-functions/take-a-course-as-a-learner.md).

> [accordion] Can I export a Stick course to my LMS?
>
> Not yet. SCORM export isn't available for courses that use a course style such as Stick. To export a course, keep it in the standard style. See [Export a course to your LMS](https://docs.ahaslides.com/features-and-functions/export-a-course-to-your-lms.md).
