# Add a slide with the slide type picker

> Open the slide type picker from New slide, search by name or tag, preview a slide type on hover and add it. Includes the sections and Recent list.

The slide type picker is the panel that opens when you click **New slide** in the editor. It lists every slide type you can add, lets you search them, and previews each one before you commit.

## Slide type picker at a glance

The picker groups slide types into sections, so you can scan for the kind of activity you want or go straight to a name with search.

| Section | What you'll find |
| - | - |
| **Recent** | The slide types you added most recently. It appears once you have added a slide, and it is fixed for as long as the picker is open. |
| **Quiz** | Scored slide types that award points, such as [Pick Answer](/using-slide-types/using-the-pick-answer-slide) and [True or False](/using-slide-types/using-the-true-or-false-slide). |
| **Gamification** | Game-style slide types, such as the [Spinner Wheel](/using-slide-types/using-the-spinner-wheel) and the [Duck Race](/using-slide-types/using-the-duck-race-slide). |
| **Unscored** | Slide types that collect opinions and ideas without points, such as [Poll](/using-slide-types/creating-a-poll-question-on-ahaslides) and [Word Cloud](/using-slide-types/using-the-word-cloud-slide). |
| **Content** | Slide types for presenting information, such as the [Content slide](/using-slide-types/using-the-content-slide). |
| **Integrations** | Shortcuts to the Google Slides and PowerPoint add-ins. |

To search, click the search bar and type part of a slide type's name or one of its tags. You can also press **Space** when the search bar isn't selected to jump straight to it. Typing three or more letters of a section name, such as `quiz`, lists every slide type in that section.

## Add a slide type to your presentation

Click a slide type to add it. The picker closes and the new slide opens in the editor, ready to edit.

Slide types that aren't included in your plan show a **Pro** badge. Clicking one shows a message that the feature isn't available in your current plan, with an **Upgrade** button. The slide isn't added unless you upgrade.

To change a slide's content afterwards, see the page for that slide type, for example [Use the True or False slide](/using-slide-types/using-the-true-or-false-slide). For an overview of every slide type, see [What is AhaSlides](/getting-started/what-is-ahaslides).
