# Setting Up a Self-Paced Presentation on AhaSlides

> Let your audience play a quiz or complete a survey in their own time. Self-paced mode lets participants proceed through a presentation without a host.

Find out how your audience can play a quiz/complete a survey in their own time.

Choosing the **self-paced** setting lets your audience proceed through a presentation **without a host**.

This is great for:

* Teachers who want to assign a quiz as homework.
* Quiz masters who want to give their players freedom to complete a quiz at a time that suits them.
* Trainers who want to carry out a survey that participants can complete at their own pace.

<Tip>
  Remember to set your presentation to **public mode** first before sending your quiz out to participants. ## On the audience's screen

Once you turn on the **Self-paced** feature, your audience will be able to navigate through the slides at their own pace, without the need for a presenter. The **Back and Next navigation bars** can be used to move to the previous or next slide. This feature makes it easy for your audience to follow along with your presentation and complete it on their own time.
