# Lock Submissions on an AhaSlides Slide

> Lock submissions on a slide so participants can't vote or respond, then reopen them later. Lock from the Edit view or during a live presentation.

Locking submissions lets you disable or enable responses on a slide. Disabling submissions on a specific slide is useful when you need to explain a question before your audience votes, or any time you don't want participants responding at that moment.

## Lock submissions from the Edit view

<Steps>
  <Step title="Select the slide">
    Select the slide you want to lock submissions on.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Open the Content tab">
    Open the **Content** tab.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Check Lock submissions">
    Check the box **Lock submissions**. This disables submissions for that question. You can reopen them again later.
  </Step>

## Lock submissions from the Presentation view

<Steps>
  <Step title="Click Lock submissions">
    While presenting, on the slide you want to stop submissions on, click the **Lock submissions** icon.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Reopen submissions">
    To enable submissions again, press the **S** key or click the **Open submission** icon.
