# Turning on Private Mode for Your Presentation

> Switch your presentation between private and public mode to control whether your audience can interact. Keep it private while editing and public while presenting.

Private and public mode control whether your audience can interact with your presentation. It's best to keep things in **private mode** while you're editing and switch to **public mode** when you're presenting.

## How to turn on private mode for your presentation

**While editing:** press the **Public** icon next to your presentation's name to switch it to private.

**While presenting:** hover over the presenting menu and choose **Switch to private**.
