# Create a Pin on Image Quiz slide

> Mark the right spot on a map, diagram or floor plan, and give points to every player whose pin lands inside it.

Pin on Image Quiz is the scored version of [Pin on Image](https://docs.ahaslides.com/using-slide-types/using-the-pin-on-image-slide.md): you mark the correct area on a picture, and players score by dropping their pin inside it. Use it when the answer is a place, such as a country on a map, a part of a diagram or a fire exit on a floor plan.

## Pin on Image Quiz at a glance

| | |
| - | - |
| Type | Scored quiz slide |
| Find it | **New slide**, then **Pin on Image Quiz** in the **Quiz** section of the slide type picker |
| Pins | One pin per player |
| Limits | Up to 20 answer shapes per slide; image upload PNG, JPEG, GIF or SVG up to 15 MB |

Pin on Image Quiz is a quiz question type. For the leaderboard, team play and the full quiz walkthrough, see [How to make and run a quiz](https://docs.ahaslides.com/using-slide-types/how-to-make-and-run-a-quiz.md).

## Create a Pin on Image Quiz slide

**1. Add the slide**

In the editor, click **New slide** and select **Pin on Image Quiz** from the **Quiz** section of the slide type picker. A **Leaderboard** slide is added after it, so you can show the scores straight away.

**2. Write your question**

Type your question in the **Your question** field in the Content panel. Name exactly what players should find, for example *"Where is the nearest fire exit?"*

**3. Add your image**

Click **Add image** under **Image** and upload or pick an image, just as on a [Pin on Image slide](https://docs.ahaslides.com/using-slide-types/using-the-pin-on-image-slide.md#create-a-pin-on-image-slide). Choose a sharp image: players zoom in before they pin, and a blurry one makes small targets hard to find.

**4. Draw the correct answer**

Choose **Rectangle** or **Ellipse** in the toolbar above the image and drag over the area that counts as correct. A pin inside any shape you draw counts as correct, so you can draw several shapes for a question with more than one right answer.

**5. Group shapes that make up one answer**

When one answer needs more than one shape, such as an L-shaped room, choose **Select several**, tap each shape, then choose **Group**. The group shows in the Content panel as one answer under **Correct answers**.

**6. Fine-tune a shape**

Select a shape to edit it in the Content panel. Open **Exact size and position** to type its **Position** (**Across** and **Down**), **Size** (**Width** and **Height**) and **Rotation**. If a shape is very small, the editor warns that players will need to zoom in.

**7. Set the points and timer**

Set **Points**, **Time limit** and the other options in the Content panel (see [Pin on Image Quiz settings](#pin-on-image-quiz-settings)).

## Present a Pin on Image Quiz slide

Click **Present** and share the access code. Each player sees your image on their phone, zooms in with a pinch or the **Zoom in** button, and taps to drop a pin. They can drag the pin to adjust it, using the magnifier for precision, and then tap **Confirm**. A pin that is never confirmed does not count.

Pins stay hidden on your screen while players answer. When the answers are revealed, your screen shows the correct areas, every pin, and how many players were **Correct** and **Wrong**. Use **Zoom to answer** to zoom in on the correct area, and **Fit** to see the whole image again. Each player's phone shows whether their pin was correct and the points they earned.

## Pin on Image Quiz settings

| Setting | What it does | Default |
| - | - | - |
| Points | The **Max** and **Min** points a correct pin can earn. A wrong pin earns no points. | — |
| Faster answers get more points | A correct pin earns **Max** points at the start of the timer, falling towards **Min** as time runs out. Turn it off to give every correct pin **Max** points. | On |
| Time limit | How long players have to drop and confirm their pin. | 30 seconds |
| Leaderboard | Shows the scores on a **Leaderboard** slide after this question. | On |
| General quiz settings | Settings shared by all quiz slides in the presentation. See [How to make and run a quiz](https://docs.ahaslides.com/using-slide-types/how-to-make-and-run-a-quiz.md). | — |

## Frequently asked questions

### Can players move their pin after they confirm it?

No. Each player gets one pin, and the first confirmed pin is their answer.

### Can I change the image or the answers after players have answered?

Not straight away. Once answers are in, the image and the correct answers are locked to keep scores fair. Click **Reset results** to unlock them. Replacing, cropping or removing the image also removes the answers you drew, because they were drawn for that image.

### What is the difference between Pin on Image and Pin on Image Quiz?

[Pin on Image](https://docs.ahaslides.com/using-slide-types/using-the-pin-on-image-slide.md) is unscored: players can drop several pins and you see them appear live, with no right answer. Pin on Image Quiz has a correct area, gives points and feeds the leaderboard.

### Does a pin on the edge of a shape count?

Yes. A pin anywhere inside a shape, including its edge, counts as correct.
