Avoid biased results by hiding the results in your presentation. You can hide the results from the screen so that they don’t influence people who haven’t answered yet.
This function is available on Poll, Open-Ended, Word Cloud, Idea Board, Ranking, Pin on Image, and Rating Scale slides. For quiz slides, use the Manually show correct answers option under the general quiz settings instead. See How to Make and Run a Quiz for details.

Hide results from the Edit view

1

Select the slide

Select the slide you want to hide results on.
2

Open the Content tab

Open the Content tab and find the Result settings group.
3

Check Show results manually

Check the box Show results manually.
To apply this setting to every slide of the same type at once, open the setting’s More actions (⋯) menu and choose Apply to all … slides (for example, Apply to all Poll slides).
Can’t find the checkbox, or is it greyed out? Two things to check:
  • The label. In the editor the setting is called Show results manually, not “Hide results”. The name Hide results belongs to the toolbar button you use while presenting (see below).
  • Your plan. Hide results is not included on every plan. If your plan doesn’t include it, the checkbox still appears in the Result settings group but is greyed out, and clicking it opens an upgrade prompt telling you which plan you need. Your current plan is shown under My plan in your account.
