AhaSlides is an all-in-one interactive presentation platform with a wide range of activity types, ranging from quizzes, games and polls to a Spinner Wheel random picker and presentation slides. Wooclap suits teaching and training sessions built around graded questions and learning management system (LMS) grade sync; AhaSlides adds drawing activities, a Duck Race game, a Diagram slide and editable PowerPoint imports. Competitor details were checked against Wooclap’s own help centre in October 2026.

AhaSlides vs Wooclap at a glance

AhaSlides and Wooclap both run live quizzes, polls and word clouds from your audience’s phones; the differences are in activity types, imports and LMS integrations.

What AhaSlides has that Wooclap doesn’t

AhaSlides has drawing, diagram and duck race slides that Wooclap’s question types don’t include, plus editable PowerPoint imports, so these are the clearest differences.

Activity types

AhaSlides offers a wide range of activity types, covering the quizzes, polls and word clouds Wooclap does and adding drawing, diagram and racing-game slides. Wooclap has a long list of its own, so the difference is less about quantity than about which activities you need. AhaSlides Wooclap (question types)
  • Assess Understanding: MCQ, Open question, Matching, Fill in the Blanks, Sorting, Find a number, Find on image, Label an image, Drag and Drop, Script concordance test and SCT Judgment
  • Gather Feedback: Poll, Rating, Prioritisation, Word Cloud, Brainstorming and Framework
  • Showcase Information: Slide, Timer, Spin the wheel and Audio/Video
  • A Message Wall for audience questions and images
  • Quick questions added mid-presentation: Poll, Brainstorming, Timer, Spin the wheel, Open question and Word cloud

Quizzes, teams and game modes

Both tools run a scored quiz with a live ranking, let people play in groups, and let participants answer in their own time.

Importing PowerPoint and PDF files

Both tools let you bring in an existing deck, but AhaSlides can keep imported PowerPoint text and shapes editable while Wooclap converts uploaded slides into images. Wooclap accepts PowerPoint, Keynote and PDF files up to 50 MB, and you then drag questions between the slides (Wooclap presentation upload guide). Both also have an add-in that runs inside PowerPoint itself. See Importing a PowerPoint presentation or PDF file and Using PowerPoint’s AhaSlides add-in.

Surveys in AhaSlides and Wooclap

AhaSlides has a standalone survey tool, while Wooclap collects answers in their own time through self-paced questionnaires inside an event. AhaSlides Surveys lets you create and share a Survey for free, and drop the same Survey live into a presentation. A few extras, such as custom themes and exporting results, aren’t available on every plan. In Wooclap, a questionnaire is built in the Self-Paced Session tab and shared with a link or the event code; sharing needs certain plans (Wooclap self-paced session guide).

Courses for self-paced learning

AhaSlides Courses are made of lessons, pages and blocks such as text, video and knowledge checks, shared with your learners by one link. Wooclap’s self-paced session is for questionnaires and downloadable files of any type, up to 75 MB each (Wooclap self-paced session guide), and participants can also review your uploaded slides at their own pace (Wooclap guide to slides on participants’ devices). Wooclap’s maker also offers Wooflash, a separate platform for tracking learners’ progress (Wooclap distance learning guide).

Reports after the session

Both tools show results for each session and for each participant, and Wooclap can email each authenticated participant a personal report (Wooclap personal report guide). Wooclap lets every user view results, but downloading them needs certain plans (Wooclap results and export guide). Wooclap also has a post-session summary, available to organisations with its AI option (Wooclap session summary guide). See Presentation and participant reports.

AI and integrations

Both platforms have AI that builds content from a prompt, and Wooclap has named AI agents, such as a Question Builder that works from a topic, document, link or audio file (Wooclap AI agents guide). Wooclap’s AI agents are available with certain plans. The main gap is learning management systems: Wooclap connects to them through LTI 1.3, including Moodle, Canvas, Blackboard and Brightspace, with certain plans (Wooclap LTI 1.3 guide), while AhaSlides connects to Blackboard through LTI 1.3, which also works with other LTI 1.3 learning management systems and isn’t available on every plan.

Which is better, AhaSlides or Wooclap?

Choose Wooclap if your sessions live inside an LMS and you want results, attendance or participation synced to its gradebook (Wooclap LTI 1.3 guide), or you need assessment-style question types such as Script concordance test, Label an image and Find a number. Wooclap also takes answers by text message with certain plans (Wooclap SMS participation guide) and has named AI agents for question building, image labelling and answer grouping (Wooclap AI agents guide). Choose AhaSlides if you want drawing activities, more games, editable PowerPoint imports and self-paced courses alongside your presentations.
  • Classrooms: Wooclap suits graded questions with LMS grade sync; AhaSlides adds drawing and a Duck Race alongside its quizzes.
  • Corporate training: AhaSlides Courses and participant reports follow learners over time; Wooclap offers self-paced questionnaires and shared files.
  • Events: both have audience questions (Q&A in AhaSlides, the Message Wall in Wooclap), word clouds and a spinning wheel; AhaSlides adds a Duck Race that picks a winner purely by luck.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between AhaSlides and Wooclap?

Both let an audience answer quizzes, polls and word clouds from their phones. Wooclap centres on graded teaching questions and LMS grade sync; AhaSlides adds drawing activities, more games, a Diagram slide and editable PowerPoint imports, and lets you build self-paced courses in the same account.

Can you edit imported PowerPoint slides in Wooclap?

No. When you upload a presentation, Wooclap converts its slides into images, so you can’t edit their text in Wooclap (Wooclap presentation upload guide). Its alternative is the PowerPoint add-in, which adds questions to a deck you keep editing in PowerPoint (Wooclap PowerPoint add-in guide). With Import as editable slides, AhaSlides keeps the text and shapes editable in its own editor.

Which learning management systems does Wooclap work with?

Its LTI 1.3 integration works with learning management systems such as Moodle, Canvas, Blackboard and Brightspace, with certain plans (Wooclap LTI 1.3 guide). In Moodle, for example, you sync results, attendance or participation, one at a time (Wooclap Moodle guide). AhaSlides connects to Blackboard through LTI 1.3, and the same approach works with other LTI 1.3 learning management systems; this isn’t available on every plan.

Does Wooclap have self-paced quizzes?

Yes. Self-paced questionnaires are answered on the web at the participant’s own pace, but Wooclap’s competition mode is for live sessions only (Wooclap competition mode guide). AhaSlides quizzes can run self-paced.

Can Wooclap participants answer by text message?

Yes, with certain plans, for a set list of question types such as MCQ, Poll and Open question (Wooclap SMS participation guide).

Does Wooclap have a standalone survey tool?

Wooclap’s closest match is the self-paced questionnaire, which belongs to an event (Wooclap self-paced session guide). AhaSlides has AhaSlides Surveys as a separate tool.

Can I use AhaSlides for free?

Yes. You can sign up for free; the free account has no time limit, and you can run a session with a live audience before deciding whether to upgrade. Some features aren’t available on every plan; if yours doesn’t include one, you’ll be prompted to upgrade. See AhaSlides pricing for current plans.

Do participants need an app?

No. Participants join an AhaSlides presentation in their phone’s browser by typing the join link or scanning a QR code, and they don’t need an account. See Invite participants to your presentation.
