AhaSlides is an all-in-one interactive presentation platform with more activity types than ClassPoint (a PowerPoint add-in made by Inknoe), ranging from quizzes, games and polls to a Spinner Wheel random picker and presentation slides. ClassPoint suits teachers who present from Windows PowerPoint and want quizzes, annotation tools and a classroom reward system inside their deck; AhaSlides adds matching and sorting quizzes, idea boards, a standalone survey tool, courses and a PowerPoint add-in that also works on a Mac. Competitor details were checked against ClassPoint’s own website in October 2026.

AhaSlides vs ClassPoint at a glance

AhaSlides and ClassPoint both let an audience answer quizzes, polls and word clouds from their phones; the differences are in where each tool runs, which activities it offers and what it does after the session.

What AhaSlides has that ClassPoint doesn’t

AhaSlides has matching, sorting, idea board and game slides that ClassPoint’s eight quiz types don’t include, so these are the clearest differences.

Activity types

AhaSlides offers more activity types than ClassPoint, which is built around eight quiz types, a Quick Poll and a set of presenting tools. AhaSlides covers quizzes, polls and word clouds too, and adds matching, ordering and sorting quizzes, idea boards, image activities, chart-style feedback and a Duck Race. The full AhaSlides list is below. AhaSlides ClassPoint (interactive quizzes)
  • Eight quiz types: Multiple Choice, Word Cloud, Short Answer, Slide Drawing, Image Upload, Fill in the Blanks, Audio Record and Video Upload
  • Fill in the Blanks, Audio Record, Video Upload and Quiz mode are available with certain plans (ClassPoint pricing page)
  • Quick Poll with true or false, yes/no/unsure and agree/disagree templates, or a custom number of options
  • Live Q&A with upvoting, on its top-tier plan
  • A random name picker with a spinner wheel, random cards and an auto-picker
  • Presentation tools: annotations, text boxes, whiteboard backgrounds, draggable objects, a timer and stopwatch

Quizzes, teams and rewards

Both tools run a scored quiz with a leaderboard. ClassPoint turns a Multiple Choice slide into a scored quiz; AhaSlides adds more quiz formats and lets people play in their own time.

Working with PowerPoint

ClassPoint lives inside PowerPoint, so it suits a teacher who builds every lesson there; AhaSlides is its own platform that can also run inside PowerPoint. If your whole workflow is Windows PowerPoint, ClassPoint’s in-deck tools are a real advantage. If you also present from Google Slides or a browser, AhaSlides works there too. See Using PowerPoint’s AhaSlides add-in and Importing a PowerPoint presentation or PDF file.

Surveys in AhaSlides and ClassPoint

AhaSlides has a standalone survey tool, while ClassPoint collects opinions with polls and word clouds inside a presentation. AhaSlides Surveys lets you create and share a Survey for free, and drop the same Survey live into a presentation. A few extras, such as custom themes and exporting results, aren’t available on every plan. ClassPoint’s Quick Poll and Word Cloud are run live during a slideshow, and its feature list has no separate survey tool (ClassPoint pricing page).

Courses for self-paced learning

AhaSlides Courses are made of lessons, pages and blocks such as text, video and knowledge checks, shared with your learners by one link. ClassPoint’s feature list has no course builder; it is built for activities you run while presenting (ClassPoint pricing page).

Reports after the session

Both tools show results for each activity and each participant, and both can export them. ClassPoint also keeps saved classes, so a class’s results build up over time. See Presentation and participant reports.

AI and integrations

Both platforms have AI that writes questions from your content. ClassPoint’s AI quiz generator turns a PowerPoint slide into a Multiple Choice, Short Answer or Fill in the Blanks question, can target a Bloom’s Taxonomy level and works in many languages, with a credit allowance that depends on your plan. AhaSlides builds whole presentations from a prompt and can generate questions from an imported PowerPoint or PDF. ClassPoint’s website doesn’t describe a connection to AI assistants such as ChatGPT or Claude.

Which is better, AhaSlides or ClassPoint?

Choose ClassPoint if you teach from Windows PowerPoint and want quizzes, annotation tools and stars, levels and badges inside the slides you already have. Choose AhaSlides if you want matching and sorting quizzes, idea boards, a standalone survey tool, courses, or a tool that works in Google Slides as well as PowerPoint, on Windows or Mac.
  • Classrooms: ClassPoint suits a Windows teacher who wants a name picker, annotations and a classroom reward system in PowerPoint; AhaSlides adds matching and sorting quizzes, idea boards and self-paced quizzes.
  • Corporate training: AhaSlides Courses and participant reports follow learners over time; ClassPoint keeps results by saved class.
  • Events: AhaSlides runs in a browser with nothing for the presenter to install, and Q&A moderation, which isn’t available on every plan, lets you approve questions before they appear; ClassPoint’s Live Q&A has no pre-moderation (ClassPoint vs Slido).

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between AhaSlides and ClassPoint?

ClassPoint adds quizzes, annotation tools and a reward system to PowerPoint on Windows. AhaSlides is a platform with more activity types, which you can use on its own or inside PowerPoint on Windows or Mac, with a standalone survey tool and courses.

Does ClassPoint work outside PowerPoint?

ClassPoint’s presenting tools are an add-in for the desktop version of PowerPoint on Windows; its web app is for managing classes and reports, not for presenting (ClassPoint web app). In December 2025 ClassPoint offered schools early access to a browser version for presenting on Mac, iPad and Chromebook (ClassPoint 2025 updates). AhaSlides runs in a browser and also has an add-in for PowerPoint and an add-on for Google Slides.

Does ClassPoint work on a Mac?

Not as a PowerPoint add-in: ClassPoint’s download page says it isn’t compatible with macOS, iPadOS or iOS, unless you run Windows on your Mac (ClassPoint download page). In December 2025 ClassPoint offered schools early access to a browser version for Mac and iPad (ClassPoint 2025 updates). Participants can join from any device with a browser.

What is ClassPoint Quiz mode?

ClassPoint Quiz mode turns a Multiple Choice slide into a scored quiz with difficulty levels that award one to three stars, and it works only with the Multiple Choice type (ClassPoint Quiz mode).

Can ClassPoint track students across several sessions?

Yes. In a saved class, which ClassPoint also calls a private class, students join with the names you register, and their stars, levels and reports build up across lessons; a public class starts afresh each session (ClassPoint private class guide).

Does ClassPoint have audio and video responses?

Yes. Audio Record and Video Upload let participants answer with their voice or a video, and both are available with certain plans (ClassPoint pricing page).

Does ClassPoint work with learning management systems?

No. ClassPoint says it doesn’t offer LMS integrations (ClassPoint vs Nearpod). AhaSlides connects to Blackboard through LTI 1.3, and the same approach works with other LTI 1.3 learning management systems; this isn’t available on every plan.

Can I use AhaSlides for free?

Yes. You can sign up for free; the free account has no time limit, and you can run a session with a live audience before deciding whether to upgrade. Some features aren’t available on every plan; if yours doesn’t include one, you’ll be prompted to upgrade. See AhaSlides pricing for current plans.

Do participants need an app?

No. Participants join an AhaSlides presentation in their phone’s browser by typing the join link or scanning a QR code, and they don’t need an account. See Invite participants to your presentation.
