AhaSlides is an all-in-one interactive presentation platform with more activity types than Slido, ranging from quizzes, games and polls to a Spinner Wheel random picker and presentation slides. Slido suits live polls and audience Q&A inside meetings and events; AhaSlides adds matching and sorting quizzes, team and self-paced quiz play, drawing activities, games, photo sharing and self-paced courses. Competitor details were checked against Slido’s own help centre in October 2026.

AhaSlides vs Slido at a glance

AhaSlides and Slido both let an audience vote in polls, send questions and take quizzes from their phones; the differences are in activity types, quiz play, courses and games.

What AhaSlides has that Slido doesn’t

AhaSlides has self-paced quizzes, team play, photo sharing and game slides that Slido’s help centre says it doesn’t offer, so these are the clearest differences.

Activity types

AhaSlides offers more activity types than Slido, which covers multiple choice polls, word clouds, open text polls, ranking, rating, ideas, quizzes, surveys and Q&A. AhaSlides covers those too, and adds matching, sorting and typed-answer quizzes, drawing, image and game activities. The full AhaSlides list is below. AhaSlides Slido (poll types)
  • Polls: multiple choice, word cloud, open text, ranking and rating
  • Ideas poll, where participants react with emojis and AI groups similar ideas
  • Quiz, with a timer on each question
  • Survey, with certain plans
  • Audience Q&A, with moderation on some plans (Slido Q&A moderation)

Quizzes, teams and game modes

Both tools run a scored quiz with a leaderboard, but a Slido quiz is multiple choice and live only. When people need to answer in their own time, Slido suggests a survey shared by direct link instead, which has no leaderboard (Slido self-paced quiz answer).

Slido and AhaSlides in PowerPoint and Google Slides

Slido runs inside your own PowerPoint or Google Slides deck, while AhaSlides can also import a deck and keep it editable. Slido’s integrations add poll, quiz and Q&A slides to your deck, and they run as you present. Each interaction becomes a holding slide that Slido asks you not to edit (Slido for PowerPoint). Like the AhaSlides add-in, Slido’s PowerPoint integration needs the desktop app (Slido PowerPoint limitations). Both Slido integrations are available on every Slido plan (Slido for Google Slides). See Importing a PowerPoint presentation or PDF file.

Surveys in AhaSlides and Slido

Both tools let you send a survey by link, but AhaSlides has a standalone survey tool. AhaSlides Surveys lets you create and share a Survey for free, and drop the same Survey live into a presentation. A few extras, such as custom themes and exporting results, aren’t available on every plan. In Slido a survey groups several polls, you can mark questions as required, and you share it with a direct link (Slido survey guide). Surveys are available with certain plans (Slido poll types guide).

Courses for self-paced learning

AhaSlides Courses are made of lessons, pages and blocks such as text, video and knowledge checks, shared with your learners by one link. Slido’s poll types and integration guides don’t include a course builder, and its quizzes can’t be taken in your own time.

Reports after the session

Both tools show engagement for each session. Slido’s Analytics tab covers engaged participants, Q&A and poll engagement, popular Q&A topics and a breakdown of question sentiment, and you can share it as a link (Slido Analytics). Exporting results is available with certain plans (Slido export guide), and with certain plans Slido’s Organization Analytics summarise every session across an organisation (Slido Organization Analytics). See Presentation and participant reports.

AI and integrations

Both platforms have AI that builds content from a prompt. Slido generates polls in Host mode from a prompt or an uploaded document, such as a PDF or PowerPoint file (Slido AI-generated polls), and its AI Quiz works only in its PowerPoint and Google Slides integrations (Slido AI Quiz). Slido’s AI also writes poll questions, groups ideas into themes and helps participants refine Q&A questions, on every Slido plan (Slido AI settings). On meeting tools the two are close, though Slido is also built into Webex as its polling and Q&A (Slido in Webex). The gap is learning management systems: Slido said in 2025 that it doesn’t integrate directly with Canvas (Slido LTI thread), and AhaSlides connects to Blackboard through LTI 1.3, which also works with other LTI 1.3 learning management systems and isn’t available on every plan.

Which is better, AhaSlides or Slido?

Choose Slido if live polls and audience Q&A inside a meeting cover what you need, especially in Webex, where Slido is built in, or if you want Q&A topic and sentiment analytics. Choose AhaSlides if you also want self-paced or team quizzes, matching and sorting activities, drawing, photo sharing, games, editable PowerPoint imports or self-paced courses. Comparing other tools? Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between AhaSlides and Slido?

Both let an audience vote in polls, send questions and take quizzes from their phones. Slido centres on polls and Q&A in meetings; AhaSlides adds self-paced and team quizzes, matching and sorting activities, drawing, photo sharing and games, and lets you build self-paced courses in the same account.

Can I run a self-paced quiz in Slido?

No. Slido says its quizzes are designed for live engagement and must be run live by a host or co-host (Slido self-paced quiz answer). AhaSlides quizzes can run self-paced.

Can Slido run team quizzes?

Not as a team. Everyone joins and competes individually, and Slido suggests nominating one person per team to submit answers (Slido quiz guide). See Run a team quiz for AhaSlides.

Does Slido work with Canvas or other learning management systems?

Slido said in 2025 that it doesn’t integrate directly with Canvas, and suggested exporting results instead (Slido LTI thread). Slido also suggests embedding Slido in your course platform (Slido classroom answer). AhaSlides connects to Blackboard through LTI 1.3, and the same approach works with other LTI 1.3 learning management systems; this isn’t available on every plan.

Which meeting tools does Slido work with?

Slido works with Zoom, Microsoft Teams and Webex, plus PowerPoint and Google Slides. AhaSlides works with Zoom, Microsoft Teams and Webex too.

Can I use AhaSlides for free?

Yes. You can sign up for free; the free account has no time limit, and you can run a session with a live audience before deciding whether to upgrade. Some features aren’t available on every plan; if yours doesn’t include one, you’ll be prompted to upgrade. See AhaSlides pricing for current plans.

Do participants need an app?

No. Participants join an AhaSlides presentation in their phone’s browser by typing the join link or scanning a QR code, and they don’t need an account. See Invite participants to your presentation.
