The slide type picker is the panel that opens when you click New slide in the editor. It lists every slide type you can add, lets you search them, and previews each one before you commit.

Slide type picker at a glance

Open the slide type picker

1

Open a presentation in the editor

Create or open a presentation from My Files.
2

Click New slide

Click New slide at the top of the left-hand slide panel. The picker opens over the editor, with the search bar at the top.

Find a slide type

The picker groups slide types into sections, so you can scan for the kind of activity you want or go straight to a name with search. To search, click the search bar and type part of a slide type’s name or one of its tags. You can also press Space when the search bar isn’t selected to jump straight to it. Typing three or more letters of a section name, such as quiz, lists every slide type in that section.
1

Search or scroll

Type in the search bar, or scroll through the sections. The Integrations shortcuts hide while you search.
2

Move through the results with the keyboard (optional)

Press Enter in the search bar to move to the first result, then use the arrow keys to move between slide types. Press Esc to return to the search bar.
3

Preview a slide type

Hover over a slide type to see a preview of it beside the picker. Moving focus onto a slide type with the keyboard shows the same preview.
If nothing matches, the picker shows No results found. Try a shorter search or a different word.

Add a slide type to your presentation

Click a slide type to add it. The picker closes and the new slide opens in the editor, ready to edit. Slide types that aren’t included in your plan show a Pro badge. Clicking one shows a message that the feature isn’t available in your current plan, with an Upgrade button. The slide isn’t added unless you upgrade. To change a slide’s content afterwards, see the page for that slide type, for example Use the True or False slide. For an overview of every slide type, see What is AhaSlides.
